Sliding wooden room doors

Compare wall-mounted and pocket sliding wooden doors. Coordinate track support, clear opening, privacy and maintenance access before installation. Use this guide to review the design with your site engineer before approving manufacture.

Reserve the door’s travel space

A sliding door avoids hinged swing but still needs somewhere for the leaf to move. Check the wall beside the opening for furniture and sockets, or coordinate a pocket within the wall. Specify track support, stops and guides, and review privacy separately from any acoustic requirement.

Compare the design options

Use these options to discuss the configuration that fits the room and its intended use. Review dimensions and details against the actual material and hardware selected in the drawing.

Details to send before quotation

Include clear site photos and any available drawings, then clarify the points below. This makes the quotation scope easier to review and helps identify changes before production approval.

  • Provide opening width and space beside it.
  • Agree wall construction and fixing with the site engineer.
  • Review leaf dimensions and weight when selecting the system.
  • Specify handles, locking, privacy and track servicing.

Installation and handover checks

Move the door to both ends and check stops and guides. Verify clear passage, the closed meeting detail and access to the track for adjustment.
